Dalai Lama

The very purpose of spirituality is self-discipline. Rather than criticizing others, we should evaluate and criticize ourselves. Ask yourself, what am I doing about my anger, my attachment, my pride, my jealousy? These are the things we should check in our day to day lives.

  1. I can really relate to this Quote. I believe the evaluation is essential and the desire to change negative behavior but I do not find it personally necessary to criticize myself. Just recognizing the undesirable trait , emotion, behavior or characteristic and choose the desired one instead seems to be most helpful and beneficial for the change.

  2. I am not always successful at discerning between a Post and a Comment in blog language. Sorry if I put my foot into the wrong barrel; I meant no inconvenience. Sometimes the blog shows up with only the most recent comment, and sometimes it shows up with all the previous ones underneath it. I really don't know what I'm doing; occasionally it works.

I know that my point of view is not universal, but personal. Over the past seventy-or-so years I have found that the meaning another person will take from an idea or event can be entirely different, even opposite, from my own. That's fine. There is no fixed position.

  3. Post is when you are posting a new subject. as I did with the quote and Photo of Dalai Lama. The comment option is in the darker brown area and says comment. Once you click on that you will get a white box that you add your comment.

The Post option is name Post. On my computer it is in the upper Left part of the screen. Just look for comment on your screen and click on and comment.

Sharing this to clarify and assist a logical sequence of ongoing communication.

In reference to meanings of words whether personal, general or universal, clarify meanings especially when translation from culture to culture is so important.
