Topic of Workshop: "Why does harmony and contentment elude me?

We'll consider through examining and meditating how our common illusion of separateness creates loneliness, fear, and distress - and how trying NOT to be separate builds even thicker walls.  There is a very interesting Buddhist wisdom: that evil enters the world when anyone has the notion that there is someone, somewhere, who does not deserve love.  In fact, most often the one we identify as the one who doesn't deserve love is ourselves!  So we become a bunch of unloved people trying to build a community of love.  If I don't love myself, I will find many ways to love others by staying separate - detached - from them. Love is allowing our own natural goodness and joy to express itself.   We'll have a chance to discover what allows us to awaken to natural unbounded friendliness, which reveals a community that is always present and unbreakable.

“Seekers have to take risks, or else intentions will just stay in the realm of ideas.”  Lama Willa Miller
